New In-Color Thank Yous

By | June 10, 2016

My daughter needs a lot of thank you cards!  So many of our friends and family have sent her nice graduation gifts.  Believe it or not, I actually ran out!!!  (I really didn’t think that was possible considering how many I make.)

So, I decided to design a fairly simple card and make it out of each of the new 2016-2018 In-Colors.  I love playing with new colors.  Did you know that you can buy a discounted bundle of all the new In-Color stamp pads?  By purchasing them all together, you save $5.00!  You can also purchase an assortment pack of all the new In-Color cardstock and all the new In Color Stampin’ Write Markers.

I really wanted each of my cards to focus on only one new In-Color, so I limited all my accents to Whisper White.  I love this simple, clean look.

I have to admit that I’m a limited on current designer papers  (I’m waiting for my first delivery.)  Therefore, I decided to use some retired Color Me Irresistible Specialty Designer Series Paper that I could sponge to match each card.  While this paper is no longer available, you could recreate the same look by using the new Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Specialty Paper, which is the same type of cardstock, but with different floral designs.  Both specialty papers come pre-embossed in clear and are easy to color with sponges, brayers, or spritzers depending on the look you want.

I decided to sponge my background papers with an ombre effect.  Each time I reloaded the sponge with ink, I started on the same side so the ink faded towards the top.

You’ll notice that two of my cards feature the new 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon.  This ribbon is available in all the new 2016-2018 In-Colors, and it’s so pretty!  For my other cards, I used the new Whisper White Thick Baker’s Twine.  I unraveled the twine to give it a softer, tattered look.

For all my banners, I used the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and coordinating Duet Banner punch.  (Both are available in a bundle for 15% off.)  I stamped the banners on the same color cardstock and then embossed the “thank you” in white.  The Thoughtful Banners stamp set has loads of great sayings to add to the various banner stampss, and what’s even better it that all the stamps are photopolymer so they can bend to fit the shape of the banners.

Finally, I added some Botanical Builder die cut flowers to each card topped with some White Perfect Accents.

As you can tell from these cards, the new In-Colors are so, so pretty.
