More Sale-a-bration Fun!

By | January 31, 2015

Can you believe it?  One month of Sale-a-bration is already over!  Wow, January went by fast.  Luckily, there are still two more months when you can earn free products with every $50 purchase! Also, did you know that if you host a workshop or party during Sale-a-bration that has total sales of $250, you earn an EXTRA $25 of hostess rewards?  How awesome is that?  Not only can each of your guests earn free products, but you get extra hostess benefits!  Contact me today to book a party before March 31!

There are so many great Sale-a-bration products to choose from this year, including the 12 original colors of Blendabilities Markers.  I thought it would be fun to show you a project you can make with a lot of these free products.

The card above includes the Simply Wonderful stamp set, Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  All three are Sale-a-bration products that you can earn for free.

To create my card, I used a couple fun techniques.  First, I used embedded embossing for the “thanks” from the Hello You Thinlits Dies.  I cut out the first thanks from Coastal Cabana card stock.  Then I cut out a second thanks from a piece of Whisper White card stock measuring 5″ by 2″ at a slight angle.  The tricky part is to keep track of all the little pieces from the middle of the h, a, k, and s, because you’ll need them to fit inside the Coastal Cabana thanks.  Once all the pieces are fit together, use some Scotch Tape to secure everything on the back.  I used a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker to ink and stamp only a portion of the “Thanks So Very Much” stamp from the Simply Wonderful stamp set.

For my background, I wanted to color the stripes of the Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper with different colors.  First, I tried a sponge dauber, but it was too wide.  So, I opted to try using an Aqua Painter, and it worked.  I was careful to painted quickly, not going over the paper more than twice, so the paper did not pill.  But, I have to say that I like the variegated effect.  Another option would be to use Blendabilities Markers in Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, and Daffodil Delight.  (I think the Daffodil Delight would look fine with the Crushed Curry  ribbon and buttons.)

For my ribbon, I placed a piece of Sticky Strip under the ribbon so I could hand pleat it.
