Today, I have two more alternative Paper Pumpkin cards to share with you. I have to admit that I had a lot of fun designing cards with this month’s kit called Many Manly Occasions. I absolutely adore the laser cut card bases that came in the kit! They are so beautiful, and it was so fun to think of different items to layer behind them.
For my first project, I layered some Kraft Corrugated Paper behind and in front of the card base. I cut 1/4″ strips to place underneath the HAPPY die cut sticker. I really love the color combination of Kraft and blue. So, I used three colors of blue for the punched hearts, including Pool Party, Bermuda Bay, and Island Indigo. Then, to make the hearts 3-D, I added some epoxy stickers on top.
For the inside of the card, I created a message using the Paper Pumpkin stamps.
For my next card, I wanted a girly theme. I used White Corrugated Paper this time, but I decided to color it. I tried a few different techniques, but the one that turned out the best was sponging. I simply sponged ink over the paper, and the ink only colored the upper ridges. I used several colors of ink, including Melon Mambo, Flirty Flamingo (new In Color!), Peekaboo Peach (another new In Color), Daffodil Delight, Pool Party, and Bermuda Bay for a rainbow effect.
Then, I punched out coordinating balloons using the Balloon Bouquet Punch and added some single strands of unraveled White Thick Baker’s Twine for strings.
For the label, I used the new Duet Banners Punch to create a banner and added the word “Graduation” from the Crazy About You stamp set.
Next, on to the inside. I used stamps from the Paper Pumpkin kit and the Thoughtful Banners stamp set. The new In Colors, Thoughtful Banners stamp set, and Duet Banners Punch are all from the new Annual Catalog, and will be available to order on June 1st.
