Jeanna is the hostess of MDS Monday this week, and she designed a template that’s fun, simple, and versatile. In fact, she made it real easy to use Project Life 3″ X 4″ cards for the border along the bottom of the photos.
Shannon recently danced at the Hollywood Vibe dance competition. It was her last competition of the year, and only two weeks after coming down with pneumonia. On top of that, the competition was held on her birthday! It was a very exciting weekend and an amazing competition, with lots of really talented dancers. I was so proud of her and her team. They danced beautifully.
Because these photos were so bright and colorful, I decided to use the Love Story Project Life cards in the background, and stick with all black and white accents. I really love the way this turned out! I don’t often think to use black and white, but I really need to try it more often, because the effect can be so dramatic. On Jeanna’s sketch, she added some washi tape to the tops of the photos, so I added a couple layers, including some Delightful Digital Tape as well as some Tape It stamp brushes. One of my favorite little details about this page are the grid stamps in the background. That stamp comes with the Love Story Project Life download.
I purchased these photos at the dance competition. (They don’t allow cameras near the stage.) However, all the photos I bought had lettering in the background that said Hollywood Vibe. That lettering just didn’t look good on my scrapbook pages. It made the photos look busy and conflicted with the title of my page. So for both my page this week (and last) I ended up editing the photos in Adobe Photoshop Elements with a Clone Stamp to erase the lettering. It was time consuming, but worth it because it made a huge difference in the overall look of the finished pages.
Here’s a before and after example of what I’m talking about.
