My website got a little facelift over the weekend! What do you think? I’ve been meaning to update it for a while and finally got a chance this weekend, because I’m convalescing. I had surgery on my right hand on Thursday (my stamping hand!!!) I have a big clumsy bandage on it for a week, which makes it hard to stamp. I can manage typing (although a little awkward, slow, and with a lot of mistakes), and I can play with MDS. So hey, you can’t keep this girl down for long, even with a sore hand.
This week, Anita is the hostess at MDS Monday. She designed a fun sketch that works for one special photo and Project Life 3″ X 4″ cards for the squares. This is the second week in a row that we’ve had a sketch that works with Project Life, so it goes to show you how versatile Project Life downloads can be!
I really love the new Let’s Get Away Project Life Collection. You can find it in the Occasions Catalog on page 47. It’s got great colors and a pretty watercolor style that’s just up my alley. Up until lately, Stampin’ Up! has provided digital versions of all it’s Project Life Collections, and I love having the ability to not only print cards that I particularly love (so I can use them more than once), but having the freedom to use the cards on digital scrapbooks as well. Unfortunately, because Stampin’ Up! is winding down its digital download site, it didn’t release Let’s Get Away. However, it was released in the Project Life Digital Download Store!
A few weeks ago at the bottom of my MDS Monday – Dancing Queen post, I explained how to add a non-Stampin’ Up! download to My Digital Studio. The three Project Life cards on this page are from the Let’s Get Away download. I love the Photo Op one! My only problem was that the arrow on the card was pointing down instead of to the right. To resolve this, I added a freeform layer, and painted white over the arrow on the original card to essentially erase it. Then, I added my own arrow from the Everyday Adventure Project Life download.
For the ink splatters, I used the ink splatters that come with the MDS software, but I couldn’t resist adding some gold sequins too. They were just too perfect for a dance team page!
I love this photo! My daughter had a friend take it with her phone backstage during one of her competitions. The little girls on the team just love her, especially Emily who has her arm around Shannon. I love the fact that the girls on this team are such good friends. They all help each other and are very supportive.
Here’s Anita’a sketch for this week:
