This week, Jeanna is the hostess at MDS Monday, and I love the layout she selected! She copied it from the Sale-a-Bration catalog on page 5. It’s a clean, colorful design that works great with lots of embellishments and focuses on one picture.
When I saw Jeanna’s sketch, I knew I had the perfect photo and subject for it! Shannon recently attended the Nuvo dance convention and competition. It was a fantastic experience where she got to take classes from some AMAZING teachers, including Stacey Tookey. Shannon and I are huge fans of “So You Think You Can Dance,” and Stacey Tookey is one of our favorite choreographers on the show. Shannon was so excited to learn that she would have a chance to take a contemporary class from her! After the class, she quickly posed for this picture. She was so lucky, because they whisked Stacey Tookey away right after this. (That’s my girl, grabbing the scrapbook moment!!!!)
I realized when I started playing around with this template that the Everyday Adventure pocket card embellishments fit the square shapes almost perfectly! For the long one under the journaling, I stacked two pocket cards on top of each other, but otherwise, it was a snap to put this together.
Some of the stamp embellishments are from the Happiness Is download. Both that download and the Everyday Adventure are Project Life downloads. Those downloads come with over 200 pocket card embellishments, as well as over 50 exclusive digital stamp brushes. There’s so much content that it makes it easy to find just the right title and embellishments to enhance any picture and situation. They are my favorite downloads that I find myself using again and again and again.
For my buttons, I didn’t have any in matching colors of Bermuda Bay and Strawberry Slush. But, that’s OK, I just found some in colors that were close and used the re-coloring tool to change them. That worked like a champ. Finally, to make my strips for the journaling, I added separate square punches, changed the shape to match the template, and then rotated them as needed. Then, I added separate text boxes over each one.
Here’s Jeanna’s sketch for this week:

Be sure to go to MDS Monday this week and look at all the designers’ pages. I’m always fascinated to see each designer’s unique interpretation of the sketches. At that site, you’ll find instructions on how to enter our challenge and how to upload your page for a chance to be a featured winner. Try it, it’s lots of fun!
