MDS Monday 101 – Rotate With Style

By | February 16, 2015

This week, for MDS Monday, I’m the hostess!  I designed a simple sketch, that you could use with one to three photos, but there’s a twist.  Everything’s on a tilt.  It’s actually really easy to do this with the Align, Group and Rotate tools on My Digital Studio.  In fact, I even made a video below to show you how to reproduce my template.

For my page this week, I used a pretty picture of my daughter that my sister Jill took at the beach over a year ago.  I’d completely forgotten all about this photo!  Luckily, I was recently browsing through a bunch of old photos and rediscovered it!!!  I LOVE everything about this picture.  I love the colors, the lighting, and the simple beauty of it.  I thought it would be perfect for my simple layout.

I wanted to play off the colors in the photo, and I liked the idea of using watercolor stamps to go with the ocean theme.  So, I “made” most of my background papers with stamps from the Beautiful Today and Hello Perfection downloads.  The only real piece of designer paper I used was the light diagonal stripe, which I re-colored Crisp Cantaloupe from Be Awesome Today.

Here’s a video that I made with some helpful hints on building this template:
