I have one last Valentine card idea to share with you today using the Sending Love Suite.
This weekend, I was wrapping gifts and addressing cards for Valentine’s Day, when I realized that I was one card short! So I broke out my favorite suite of products and designed one last card. Now, I know I’ve been using watercolor wash backgrounds a lot lately, but I can’t help it!!! They are so pretty. For this card, I gave the wash a little twist by adding some embossing.
I started out with a piece of Shimmery White Paper measuring 5-1/4″ x 4″ and added a little watercolor wash with Melon Mambo, Real Red and Calypso Coral ink. Once the paper was dry, I ran it through the Big Shot with the Falling Petals Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. Using the Textured Impression Embossing Folder has the added benefit of eliminating any residual warping of the Shimmery White Paper from watercoloring too. It comes out nice and flat. I love the subtle look of this background! It’s so pretty!
The little vellum envelopes are filled with confetti cut from the same color paper as the watercolor wash using the Confetti Hearts Border Punch. I have to admit that I copied that idea from a card created by a fellow demonstrator. But, it was such a great idea!!!
I finished off the rest of the card with silver accents … some silver embossing, silver metallic thread, Silver 1/4″ Natural Trim, and even a mini silver paper clip.
