Since My Digital Studio is going away, I decided that I would make a concerted effort to create more Project Life scrapbook pages in the future. I went as far as purchasing the Let’s Get Away Project Life Card Collection and Accessory Pack, as well as the coordinating photopolymer stamps. However, since I’m still madly designing My Digital Studio pages until the June 2 deadline, the Project Life supplies have been sitting on my shelf (temporarily, I promise!)
In the meantime, I was looking for some inspiration to create a card today, and I thought to myself, why not use some of my Project Life supplies? Project Life can be used for a lot more than just scrapbooking! If fact, I ADORE the accessory kits. They come with some of the best embellishments.
I used two 3″ X 4″ cards on my project, as well as a 3″ X 4″ flower frame from the Let’s Get Away Project Life Accessory pack. I love the bright colors in this kit!
The camera is from the Snapshot stamp. I stamped it with Black Staz On ink on Shimmery White Paper. I knew I wanted to watercolor the image, to match the style of the Project Life cards. Yet, the background of all the PL cards is white. I know this is picky, but I really don’t like to mix vanilla watercolor paper with designer papers (or PL cards) with white backgrounds. It bugs me. But, I found a solution! While you can’t watercolor on Whisper White card stock, because the paper pills, you can watercolor on Shimmery White Paper with no problems at all! So, it’s a great alternative when trying to match white backgrounds. Plus, you get the added bonus of the subtle shimmer, which is so pretty!!!
Did you notice the Crushed Curry epoxy dots on the camera? Those come in the Let’s Get Away Project Life Accessory Pack, and they are pre-colored. That same pack also includes the washi tape and paper clip, along with lots of other fun things. This is really just the tip of the iceberg.
All the stamps (other than the camera) are from the Project Life Let’s Get Away stamp set. I loved this stamp set the moment I saw it!!!
I used an Aqua Painter to watercolor the camera with Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, and Crushed Curry ink.
Supplies used on my card:
This card was fairly quick to make. The only thing that took a little time was the watercoloring. So, if you’re looking for inspiration to make a quick card, try your Project Life cards!
Have a great weekend!!!
