It’s finals time for my daughter and her boyfriend in college!!! That can be such a stressful time of year, especially with the holidays looming. I know they’ll both do great, but I also know they both love getting little surprises to lift their spirits.
This past weekend, I worked on putting together some “finals” care packages with fun treats to let them know we’re thinking of them and wishing them well. I also included a small note card in each package. I thought the sentiment from the Colorful Seasons stamp set was PERFECT for the occasion!
I kept these pretty simple. I used my favorite Wood Textures Designer Series Paper in the background and stamped a few coordinating snowflakes. Then I just layered some of those terrific die cuts that come with the Seasonal Layers Thinlits Dies. You can buy these two products in a bundle for 10% off at my online store.
I mounted everything on Whisper White Notecards. Easy peasy.
The only part of these cards that took a little time and effort was the sentiment. I cut them out by hand so the white background would contrast with the background yet not cover too much of it up.
As a final touch, I added a bow created with the Real Red 1/8″ Solid Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog. That ribbon is one of my favorites because it’s so tiny. It makes it easy to add to a card without creating too much bulk.
They may be simple, but I love the way they turned out … cheerful and festive.
