It’s Paper Pumpkin time! This month’s kit is really fun, just perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, and new babies. It’s called Banner Surprise and includes enough supplies to make six cards and decorative banners.
Here’s a picture of the contents including 6 Tip Top Taupe striped card bases, 6 Mint Macaroon treat bag envelopes, a big bag of colorful confetti, 35 triangle cellophane bags, 2 sheets of gold foil stickers including letters, numbers, hearts and stars, 3 sheets of die cut white circles, SUPER pretty striped washi tape, white baker’s twine, Mint Macaroon and Tip Top Taupe Classic Stampin’ Spot ink pads, and the photopolmer stamp set shown below.
This is a great little photopolymer stamp set that can be used for multiple occasions in combination with the gold foil letters and numbers.
Here’s the standard card that you can make with the kit. You can also make a full banner and wrap it around the card so the recipient unwraps it for a surprise message – hence the name Banner Surprise. I only placed one cello bag below so I could save my supplies for other ideas.
Each month, Stampin’ Up! prepares a video to show how to put the kit together. Here’s this month’s video.
My husband’s cousin is having a baby boy in September, so I thought I’d make a card for her upcoming baby shower. I used the Jar of Love stamp set to make a little jar of baby food and cut it out with one of the matching Everyday Jars Framelit Dies. Those same framelits also include these adorable little heart strips.
I cut up one of the treat bag envelops to create the heart strips and circle behind the jar. Tip for creating the strip: Cut out the strip first (1/2″ wide) and then place the framelit dies on top. It makes it really easy to center the hearts.
For a little extra pizzazz, I added some Thick White Baker’s Twine to my bow.
Here’s another tip: When stamping super small stamps like the little dots, use a light touch. That will help prevent catching an unexpected edge and ruining your project.
In addition to the June 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit, I used the following supplies on my cards:
