We had lots to celebrate last week! Two birthdays and Easter!!! Not only did my daughter have her birthday, but so did her boyfriend that she’s been dating for almost a year. He’s a great kid that we’ve really enjoyed getting to know.
For his birthday card, I used the new Happy Celebrations stamp set and coordinating Celebrations Duo embossing folder. I again got my inspiration from a card on Pinteret.
I stamped the HAPPY on watercolor paper with Basic Black Archival ink and then watercolored each letter with an ombre design using Old Olive, Dapper Denim, and Pool Party ink. Afterwards, I cut out each letter out by hand.
I love the big bold letters from this stamp set!
For the background, I embossed the HAPPY on Very Vanilla cardstock. Then, I stamped the images right over the embossing. To clean up the stamped images, and make them look a little more like dripping paint, I used my Aqua Painter and some clear water to paint over the stamped images.
I adhered the cut out letters over the embossing with dimensionals and then curled the banner with a Bone Folder for a 3-D effect. This stamp set has really great sayings for all sorts of occasions.
Here’s a look at the inside. To achieve the multi-color look, I inked up my stamp with Pool Party ink first, then I sponged the Old Olive and Dapper Denim ink directly onto the photopolymer stamp before stamping. Give the stamp a little huff before stamping to re-moisten the ink.
