I have good news and bad news today. I hate to have to report any bad news, (considering that I’m a “glass half full” kind of a gal), but sometimes it’s necessary. Anyway, now that I’ve really got your attention, let me clarify.
I read this update on the Demonstrator Website over the weekend:
“Stampin’ Up! is experiencing a quality issue with its Blendabilities product line. Except for the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (item #132708) and the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad Refill (item #133456), all item numbers have been turned off; this includes Blendabilities Sale-A-Bration item numbers.
At this time, backorders for Blendabilities will not be fulfilled.
Stampin’ Up! thanks you for your patience and will update you as soon as it has more information.”
More information came out today indicating that if customers have Blendabilities backorders, they should have their demonstrators call Stampin’ Up! to provide replacement items. (I’m not aware of any backorders at present with my customers.) Stampin’ Up! also indicated that it might take a while to resolve the quality issues.
I know this is really disappointing to customers who love Blendabilities Markers (including me!) and wanted to earn them as Sale-a-Bration items. However, with that said, I think it’s important to realize that Stampin’ Up! has recognized a serious quality problem and is working hard to resolve it. I admit that I’ve experienced problems with dried out markers, and I know that Stampin’ Up! has very high standards when it comes to its products. To me, that’s the silver lining. So, hang tight and I’ll let you know any new developments as soon as I hear.
Now that I got that out of the way, EVERYTHING else is good news! There are new Sale-a-Bration items that you can earn for free during this last month, there are new Weekly Deals, and there are new Digital Downloads!!! Whoo, hoo!!!
This week, there are lots of packaging items on sale. Think ahead to Easter treats and goodies…
New Digital Downloads:
Stampin’ Up! released new digital downloads for March …perfect for upcoming birthdays and graduations.
Sale-a-Bration continues through March 31st. Today, for my Sale-a-Bration inspiration, I’m using the Simply Wonderful stamp set. Of course, you can currently earn this set for free when you purchase $50 during Sale-a-Bration. I really love this set, because it has lots of great, versatile sayings. In particular, I love the “Thanks” because I make a lot of thank you cards, and it’s just the right size to color quickly with Blendabilities Markers.
The little flower and “you’re the best!” are also part of this same stamp set. To color the flower two colors, I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color directly onto the rubber. Then, I gave the stamp a huff before I stamped it. Don’t forget the huff! You may laugh, but it re-moistens the ink to get a better stamped image.
This is a fairly simple card to make. (I like showing Sale-a-Bration projects that are easy to duplicate.) I got the general idea from the Sale-a-Bration catalog and then just changed it up a bit. All the papers on this card are from the Stacked With Love designer paper stack. Paper stacks are great because they are economical, and you get a ton of different designs to choose from!
The pennant shape is from the Party Pennants Big Z L Die Cut. Just remember that this die cut works for cards too! It has great shapes that fit wonderfully on card fronts.
I used a few fun punches on this card, including the Bow Builder punch, the Scallop Edge Border punch, and the Banner punch (to notch the ends of my banner.) To finish off my card, I added a few pearls.
Supplies used on my card:
Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum:
For Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-Bration inspiration today, it’s featuring one of the new Sale-a-Bration items released March 1st. I just ordered this and now I can’t wait to get it!!! This vellum is GORGEOUS!!! I’m totally in love with all these projects. Now I know what all my bonus projects are going to feature for the last round of Butterfly Basics Stamps In the Mail:)
