Have you seen the new Sale-A-Bration Glitter Tape? It’s AWESOME!!!!
You can select this tape for free when you place an order for $50 before March 31, 2016. The Glitter Tape comes with three separate rolls — gold, silver and clear. But the best thing is that you can color the clear tape, and it comes out GORGEOUS!!!! Can you tell that I’m excited? I got this tape at least a week ago, and I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to use it!
I set out to make an Easter card, so I picked all subtle colors:
To color the Clear Glitter Tape, I placed strips on a Silicon Craft Sheet and then colored them with Sponge Daubers.
On a side note, did you know that you can wash Sponge Daubers with soap and water and re-use them? I do it all the time. (Same thing with my Stamping Sponges.)
The Glitter Tape was a little messy … it took some time for the ink to dry, so be careful. So, fair warning, because I immediately placed the strips on my Whisper White cardstock, and I had a few finger smudges to cover up. Also, when I cut the Oval Framelits Die out of the center, some of the ink got on my Big Shot glass. So, be sure to check and clean that up with a baby wipe before your next project.
I don’t have a lot of “Easter” themed stamps, so instead I chose a good old Spring classic — Butterfly Basics. I also used the Crazy About You stamp set for the greeting. The Butterfly Basics stamp set is one of my favorites. I did a whole Stamps In The Mail class with it last year, including 12 cards and 6 bonus projects. It’s that versatile. I particularly adore the lacy butterfly stamp. It’s so delicate a pretty. You can buy this stamp set in a bundle with the coordinating Butterflies Thinlits Dies for 15% off.
To stay consistent with the glitter theme of my card, I used a Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to “glitz up” the two butterflies. I also thought it would be fun to add a few fun embellishments that were left over from my Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit. I twisted the string of pearls and used glue dots to adhere them. The sequins come from that kit as well.
Before I adhered the layer with the glitter tape, I marked the oval gently with a pencil and stamped the ferns (being careful to mask the outside edges of my card, so they stayed white.)
