From Land to Sea

Hope you’re having a great weekend!  Today, I have a another card using the From Land to Sea stamp set.  Because of the nautical theme, this stamp set is great for making manly cards!  I find that I don’t have a lot of stamp sets that work well for guy cards, so this is a big bonus for me.

I love the background paper on this card.  Believe it or not, it’s part of the Pretty Petals Designer Paper Stack!!!  This stack has gorgeous colors, and I realized as I was thumbing through all the papers, that there are a lot that would work well with manly cards.  Who would have thought that from a paper stack called Pretty Petals?  With the bold Pacific Point stripes on this particular paper, I thought it worked perfectly with my nautical themed card.

I used the Oval Collection Framelits to cut out my two main layers from Crumb Cake card stock and Watercolor Paper.  Then, I stamped the swordfish with Black Stazon ink and watercolored it with Pacific Point, Crumb Cake and Marina Mist inks.

I also stamped the wheel with Black Stazon ink on Crumb Cake card stock and watercolored it with Early Espresso.

To make the card more manly, I sponged all the edges with Early Espresso ink.

I tried to keep my embellishments manly.  So, I stuck with some 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon, which again works well with the nautical theme, and some Linen Thread and Pacific Point Candy Dots from the Brights Collection.  I think this came together rather well, if I don’t say so myself.  Yeah!!

There are some hidden treasures in the 6″ x 6″ paper stacks!  I love those paper stacks every time I buy them.  Considering that you get 48 sheets for only $8.00, they are one of my favorite products in the catalog.  You should try them out!
