Free Spirit

By | August 3, 2015

Today, I have another Project Life page to share from my Maui album.  This page features my son, Samuel.  He was so excited to go on this trip.  The last time he went to Maui, he was only 2 years old, so he didn’t remember any of it.  (When we went a few years ago, he had just started college and couldn’t join us.)

These photos are from our first full day when we stopped to look at Mama’s Fish House.  Samuel loved walking around exploring the beautiful property, looking at the tide pools, and throwing rocks.  He’s almost 21 years old now, but some things never change!

I used the Happy Times Project Life card collection for my page.  The colors of the cards looked great with the tropical photos, and I particularly loved the “Free Spirit” card.  I thought it really described Samuel well.  The blue and white strip on the bottom photo is just a cropped section of one of the cards.  To decorate the rest of the page, I used a lot of wooden elements from several digital downloads, including Top Notch Woodcuts and Essential Woodcuts.  You could do a similar page using the wooden elements from the Happy Times Accessory Pack (138452).

I competed my page digitally using a download purchased at Becky Higgin’s store HERE.  You can also purchase the Happy Times Project Life card collection from Stampin’ Up!; see the supply list below.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed with the amount of pictures you have laying around (or piling up on your computer)?  Project Life is a great way to get organized!  It’s a quick and easy method to create long lasting memories.  Just grab a few photos that go together, place them in pocket cards, and add some journaling and embellishments.  You can make it super simple, or add more effort for those super special photos.  The important thing is to just find a little time to do it!  Try to set aside 1 or 2 hours a week to do a page or more.  Before you know it, you’ll realize your pages are stacking up and you’ve made progress!!!  And, the more you do it, the easier it gets.
