Cookie Cutter Halloween

By | September 22, 2016

I had Stamp Club last week.  It’s always so much fun to get together with the gals and make projects.  For this club, I focused three of the four projects on the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch and coordinating stamp sets, including the Cookie Cutter Halloween.  I adore this cute little scarecrow guy!!!

This is actually the door prize that I gave out at the workshop.  Each time we meet, I like to give away a little something just to let my friends know how much I appreciate them.

I stamped the scarecrow and crow with Basic Black Archival ink on watercolor paper, and then I watercolored them with an Aqua Painter and various colors of ink listed below.  It’s easy to do this by giving your stamp pad a little squeeze and then using the ink that pools on the lid.  You can also use a little re-inker on the lid for more saturated color.

After punching out my scarecrow, I layered him over a bunch of strands of burlap ribbon that I had un-raveled.  I thought it sort of looked like hay.

To create my “box”, I used the Envelope Punch Board.  I made an over sized envelope first.  Then, I used the scoring knife to add an extra fold to give my envelope a little height.

I used some Pumpkin Pie Cotton Ribbon to wrap the box.  This ribbon is still available in the Clearance Rack!!!

Here’s a closer look it case you’d like to copy the watercoloring.
