Color Fusers Blog Hop for March 2019

By | March 4, 2019

Today is a fun day, because I’m doing two challenges in one! The Color Fusers are having their monthly Blog Hop, focusing on the above three colors. You can navigate through the blog hop for lots of color inspiration by using the buttons at the bottom of this post. In addition, I’ve added a list of all the blog hop designers at the bottom, just in case you get stuck along the way.

Secondly, the What Will You Stamp? Challenge Blog is featuring the Well Said stamp set this week. This is an AMAZING stamp set, full of tons of words and sentiments that fit just about any occasion. What’s better is that the stamps coordinate with the gorgeous Well Written Thinlits Dies for even more options.

You can purchase the Well Said stamps and Well Written Thinlits Dies in a bundle to save 10%. See the supply list below to order.

I decided to design a birthday card, because I have lots of friends and family with March birthdays so I need to start getting prepared!

Sale-A-Bration!

You’ll notice that I used a couple really cool Sale-A-Bration products on this card! Sale-A-Bration is Stampin’ Up!’s biggest sale of the year, and it continues through March 31, 2019. During this time, you can earn FREE products each time you spend $50 or $100. The background paper is from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper pack (free with a $50 purchase.) It’s Highlander Heather, so it was perfect for this color challenge. The stamps are part of the new Painted Seasons Bundle, which includes both the Painted Seasons stamp set and Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper pack (free with a $100 purchase.)

This was my first time using the Painted Seasons stamps. They are distinctive stamps that produce realistic-looking images, and I absolutely love them! Simply stamp the image and look at the amazing shading !!! I used Gorgeous Grape ink for the flowers in the background and Highlander Heather for the two in the foreground. On the very top flower, I used a Sponge Dauber to add a little Gorgeous Grape ink to the center before stamping.

For the leaves, I stamped the images with Smoky Slate ink on Smoky Slate Cardstock. Then, I used the new Four Seasons Framelits Dies to cut out the flowers and leaves. These dies are one of the new Coordinating Sale-A-Bration products that will be available to purchase during the month of March! It’s a must have to go with the Painted Seasons stamp set!!! I used those same dies to cut a few extra leaves from Vellum Cardstock for a soft look.

For the sentiment, I embossed the Well Said greeting in white on Basic Black Cardstock, and then cut it out with a Rectangle Stitched Framelits Die. The die cut was a little long for this word, so I used a partial die-cutting technique to cut one half at a time and shorten the rectangle.

Afterwards, I used the Well Written Thinlits Dies to cut out three Gorgeous Grape “wishes” and adhere them together with a Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

To break up the background from the dies, I added two layers of Vellum Rectangle Stitched Framelits die cuts. Then, my final touch in construction was to add the Textured Weave Ribbon. (Oh gosh, I thought it was Smoky Slate and it’s actually Gray Granite. It sure looks like it matches.) I applied it with a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive. This tape is so strong that I simply needed to fold and manipulate the ribbon with my fingers to make it stay in place.

Be sure to continue on through the Color Fusers Blog Hop! Next up is Nicolle Belesimo, one of our newest designers! I can hardly wait to see what she comes up with.
