I was so lucky this year to receive SO MANY beautiful handmade cards that I wanted to share them with you. I didn’t ask for permission, so hopefully my friends and family will be pleasantly surprised. Personally, I think a handmade card is one of the best gifts a person can receive. It’s the ultimate act of kindness … as it takes time, thought, and love to create.
This first card was created by my dear friend Faith Simpson. When I was looking for a local demonstrator about 15 years ago, I noticed her beautiful cards online and reached out to her. I joined her Stamp Club and we’ve been friends ever since. This shaker card is just gorgeous in real life, and I love the way Faith unraveled the baker’s twine and sequins to give it a tattered look. She also used one of my favorite stamp sets From Land to Sea.
This next card is from my mom! (Love you so much!!!) Don’t you just love the way she added all the small pink flowers with the pearls to the trees? I also love the way she colored the embossed trees white and added the wooden sentiment. Mom’s great at finding unique embellishments like this to add to her cards.
Next is my sister Jill’s card. (Love you too!!!!) I ADORE the soft watercolored background of this card and the way she added the die cut as a sun. Also, the bright colored little bird is so cute. Absolutely lovely card!
My beautiful sister-in-law Laurel recently started stamping too! She also created a beautiful watercolored background for her card. (I think my family knows how much I love watercoloring!) I love the bright, happy colors on Laurel’s card and the way she layered the flower punches so the top ones really stood out. Great job Laurel and beautiful card!
These next two cards are from fellow demonstrators. The first card was created by Karen Pafford, whose birthday is two days after mine! Therefore, she’s a fellow Virgo. I thought it was so clever of her to create a Virgo card! Also, her color combination and the gold glitter letters are just gorgeous!!! I also really love the layered gold acetate dots and Flourishing Thinlit Dies.
Debbie Keane created this pretty card! She used a hostess stamp set called Fabulous Flora to create the beautiful sketched flowers and Thoughtful Banners for the sentiment. I really love the way she stamped the Happy Happy Birthday; that’s really thinking outside the box. I’ll have to remember that for the future. Debbie used one of my favorite background papers too, Playful Palette. Super pretty card!
So I have to tell you, I’m feeling pretty loved after receiving all those beautiful handmade cards!
My final share is not obviously not handmade, but it is very special.
My absolute, favorite Disney movie is Beauty and the Beast, so when my husband saw this card, he just HAD to get it. This is so NOT the kind of card he typically buys (or makes.) He usually focuses on something funny or witty, so this card really caught me off guard.
Aweee, so sweet! XXXOOO
Well, that’s it for now. Enjoy the rest of your weekend:)
