One of my husband’s best friends is about to turn 60! (Yikes, I can’t believe we’re all approaching another big milestone!) They’ve been friends since grammar school and have enjoyed lots of skiing and hiking trips in the back country of the Sierra.
Meanwhile last weekend, we happened to be wine tasting in Lodi with my mom (which was so fun), and my husband discovered this great bottle of red wine with a bear on the label. It seemed like the perfect gift for his rustic friend, along with a few other things we stuck in the back of the bag.
I created a tag using the Cheerful Tags Framelits and colors from the bottle. I just love those framelits!!! There are so many fun shapes. I borrowed a Happy Birthday stamp from the Butterfly Basics stamp set, embossed it in gold, and layered some ovals over the tag.
One of my favorite things to use with these labels is Kraft Rope Trim. When it’s unraveled, it becomes super wavy and adds a lot of interest.
Sticking with the bear theme, I designed a card to go with it!
I used the Bear Hugs stamp set and coordinating framelits to create my bear. Then, I watercolored him and added a punched banner. I used a Paper Piercing Tool to punch holes on the sides of the banner and string Linen Thread through.
Of course, I also HAD to add a big 60 using the Number of Years stamp set and coordinating framelits dies. It was just too perfect.
You’ll also notice some Warmth and Cheer Designer Paper in the large banner. Again, it coordinated beautifully with the rustic theme.
