2016 Desktop Calendars

By | October 24, 2015

Today is the last installment of my 2016 Desktop Calendar class.  This class started at the beginning of the year, when My Digital Studio was still being supported by Stampin’ Up!, and I promised to finish the class by the end of the year.  Well, hooray!  I did it!!!  The “class” evolved into just finishing the designs and sharing the details, but I’m happy to complete it.  I love giving out these calendars as Christmas presents each year.  Next step to get them printed.  I’ll be honest, I haven’t had anything printed since Stampin’ Up! stopped printing.  So, I can’t give any good advice at this point.  However, now that I’m done, I’ll test it out and let you know what I find.  I plan on trying either My Memories Suite or Costco.  Another really good printer that I’ve heard about is Persnickety Prints (found online.)

For both the November and December pages, I opted to use old Stampin’ Up! digital downloads.  For November, I used the Fall Memories digital download.  I love the pretty leaf stamps, embellishments, and designer papers that came in this kit.  I also adore the color combination, including Close to Cocoa, Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding and Very Vanilla.  You can see all the details under the Desktop Calendar Tab on my blog.  Just scroll down to find November.

For December, I used a download called Holiday Harmony II.  This particular download comes with embellishments called Hand Selected.  I remember when I first purchased this download that I didn’t realize that they all went together, then I noticed the extra embellishments in my program and realized the connection.
I added several fun embellishments on this page, most of which I’ve used on several previous calendar pages, including the Chevron Ribbon, stitching from Family Fun Book and pearl.  Another beautiful embellishment is the Cherry Cobbler Stitched Ribbon.  I remember how pretty the real ribbon was in real life and thought it was perfect for a December page.  Lastly, I layered a Designer Rosette under the Happy Christmas label.

Hope you’ve enjoyed making these calendars this year and that your friends love them as much as mine do!

Your calendars are beautiful. I have been using yours as examples and have tried making some myself. I am anxious for you to figure out and post how you go about printing them b/c I have never printed anything since Stampin’ Up! stopped using MDS.

I have an album that I am wanting or needing to print also and not sure how to go about doing that either so I am hoping you will post some very good directions / videos on how to do that. Thank you for all your wonderful tips and examples.
